Installation Instructions
- Turn off power before installing or removing connectors.
- Select the appropriate wires according to the below wire combinations.
- Strip wires to recommended strip length of 7/16" (CWLD12 and CWLD13) or 1/2" (CWLD 17).
- Pretwisting is acceptable but not required. For pretwisting see step #7.
- Align any frayed ends and conductors.
- Hold stripped wires together with ends even. Lead stranded conductors by approx. 1/16".
- For pretwisting, strip wires long, align insulation ends, twist conductors together, trim to recommended strip length.
- Insert wires firmly into connector and tighten connector until approximately two twists are visible in the wire outside the connector. Make sure the wires are installed firmly after the wires are fully inserted into the connector.
Identification and Usage
Identified as a Pressure-Type Wire Connector on the following SOLID and/or STRANDED CCA-TO-CCA, CCA-To-CU and CU-To-CU CONDUCTOR wire combinations. SUITABLE FOR USE with Copperweld® CCA Wire. Identified for Intermixing between CU conductors and Copperweld® CCA conductors. Per NEC Section 110.14 Electrical Connections, CCA and Copper are NOT DISSIMILAR METALS for the Requirement of Electrical Connections.
