CCA's additional safety measure

Copper-Clad Aluminum (CCA) is a conductor material that follows a strict ASTM material standard. To ensure safety, Copperweld petitioned the NEC (National Electrical Code) during the 2020 code-making cycle and proposed that an additional safety measure be put in place in the form of a listing for the CCA conductor material itself. This additional listing is known as DVVV2.

If you ever had any doubts about the safety of CCA building wire, know the facts. Copperweld building wire cable assemblies and their components carry more listings than the alternatives.
