Not all conductors are designed with the same priorities. While electrical performance is essential, many utility and grounding applications also demand exceptional mechanical strength to withstand installation stresses, environmental loading, and decades of service.

Copperweld® Copper-Clad Steel (CCS) conductors combine the conductivity and corrosion resistance of copper with the strength of an engineered steel core. By selecting mild steel, high-strength steel, or extra-high-strength steel based on the application, Copperweld designs conductors that deliver the mechanical performance required for power grid infrastructure, grounding systems, overhead static wire, and other demanding installations.
