In this application spotlight, Copperweld^® Century^™ Copper-Clad Steel (CCS) grounding conductors are shown supporting transmission tower grounding installations in the volcanic soils of rural Costa Rica, where corrosive conditions and shifting terrain place demanding requirements on grounding infrastructure.

Selected by the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity (ICE) for transmission tower counterpoise grounding applications, Copperweld Century combines the conductivity of copper with the strength of steel to provide long-term mechanical durability in demanding subgrade environments. Its Copper-Clad Steel construction helps resist mechanical damage while supporting dependable grounding performance throughout the service life of the transmission system.
